Mobile Phone

Worldwide mobile sales increased 32% in 2010 and smartphone shipments surpassed those of personal computers according to Technology Research firm Gartner. Smartphone sales accounted for 19% of total mobile sales last year.

Apple the maker of iPhone, and Canada's RIM, maker of Blackberry, displaces Sony Ericsson and Motorola in the rankings of the world's largest mobile manufacturers.

World Mobile Phone sales in 2010 .
1) Nokia 461.3 million units (but market share drop from 36.4% in 2009 to 28.9% in 2010)
2) Samsung 281.1 million units
3) LG 114.1 million units
4) Blackberry 47.4 million units
5) iPhone 46.6 million units
6) Sony Ericsson 41.8 million units
7) Motorola 38.5 million units

Nokia and LG's drop in market share was due in part to their failure to make more impact in the rapidly growing smartphone market.

I am now using a Nokia E52 handphone, my wife a Blackberry curve, my daughter a Sony Ericsson, my son a Nokia and my other daughter a Samsung.
